I've always had a passion for working with people with disabilities and/or special needs. When I was 13, I started volunteering at the Parks and Recreation Therapeutic recreation. My responsibilities included helping with arts and crafts, dancing, bowling, outings, summer camps and basic care giving. As soon as I turned 16, I was hired on as staff for the city in the therapeutic department. I've also been a part of Special Olympics, and started up my own babysitting services for special needs persons of all ages when I turned 15. I have completed two years of Early Childhood Education Professions Classes through high school. I student taught with some special ed teachers at different schools throughout the Plano area. I am now currently a student at Collin College studying to be a Special Education teacher with a minor in sign language interpreting.
