Susan has helped me take care of my 12 year old twins that both have special needs. My girls were born 3 months premature and have a number of serious health and developmental issues. Both girls have heart defects, lung disease, asthma, g.i. conditions, and suppressed immune systems. In addition, one of my daughters has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, hydrocephalus, autism, a feeding tube, ADD and chronic fatigue. She has had over 30 surgeries. Both girls have experienced medical and developmental traumas that require ongoing treatment by nine specialized doctors, psychiatrists, and therapists. Susan has been great support for my family since the girls were born. She frequently cares for them in order to provide respite for me. Susan is great at following medical directions. She knows how to administer medications around the clock, treat lung problems with breathing treatments, how to use feeding tubes and cared for both girls when they were on oxygen and heart monitors. In addition to handling all the medical requirements, Susan has been both a great tutor and an art therapist for the girls. Because of her academic training in psychology, art and special education, Susan is very able to provide my girls with a nurturing, academic and therapeutic "play date". The girls think they are playing, and they are, but they are also learning and dealing with issues like anxiety. My whole family adores Susan, but not just because she is my sister. It is because she is so very capable and caring. I have had 6 nannies over the last 12 years. Susan is without a doubt the best.
