I got my start several years ago, back in NY (my home state) through volunteer work for eight years! For the past three years I worked my way up starting as an "aid" to the assistant supervisor to a self-directed day program that serves adults with developmental disabilities and different capabilities. Throughout those three years, I also worked a few part time jobs, one of them was to a beautiful family in Red Bank. I would assist their non-verbal son with his morning routine, get him out of bed, toilet, feed, and put him on the bus. I would meet him off the bus, and we would play, and hang out. Another part time position was being the aide to a feisty and amazing young woman in the mornings and afternoons. I help with changing, dressing, eating, bathing, and just hanging out. Drinking coffee, grabbing a bite to eat, and enjoying life. I love serving individuals with different capabilities, I love hanging out, and making friends, figuring out ways to introduce routine, and living life to the fullest with my new friends. This truly is my calling, I'm here for you.
