I have been taking care of older people, mostly family, almost my whole life. Much of the time I was unable to work or really do anything in my life and I'm okay with that. For the past 2 years I was taking care of my grandfather who had stage 4 lung cancer, he sadly passed away 08/29/2013. I was with him 24/7 for 2 years. Ever since I was about age 9, I have been taking care of others and completely disregarding my own life. I am very good at it and I strongly believe in family, if someone needs help - you help no questions, no excuses, just be there in their time of need! I am a terrific care giver. I cook, clean, wash, read, and I have a great sense of humor. I cannot be a live in worker, as I have my own house and 2 dogs that wouldn't understand it. I've had to leave them quite a few times to take care of others. I have no professional experience in this field, but family or not, they deserve to be treated like family and not just a pay check!
