I have volunteered the last 10 years at a summer camp called Camp Moja. It is one week out of the summer where I help teens and adults with physical and mental special needs. I do everything from help them get ready in the morning, help prepare their food, help them eat, assist them with activities, assist them in the bathroom, assist them in the shower, changing clothes, taking care of accidents, and getting them into bed. I have many in wheel chairs and walkers. I also have helped a girl with down syndrome at church, helped many kids play softball, and have babysat a girl with autism for 6 years. I love working with babies, toddlers, kids, teens and adults. I feel as if I have a lot of experience and knowledge. I know some sign language and have also helped with deaf and mute adults. I have a passion and a special place in my heart to help take care of people with special needs.
