I am 19 years old and come from a family of 9. I am the 6th child of 7 and my younger brother (18 years old) has Down syndrome. I really have a passion for working with those that have special needs or any sort of physical/ mental disability. I have a very good work ethic and I am ready to serve. I value integrity and honesty and strive to do my best in all aspects of life. This past summer, I worked as a Direct Support Professional. I absolutely fell in love with the 4 residents living at the group home. Some of my duties included: morning care (showering, changing, preparing breakfast), administering medication, administering enemas/suppositories, filling out legal documents daily, housekeeping chores, taking residents on outings/doctor appointments, etc. I am interested in a summer position beginning in May. I will be moving to New Zealand to attend an outreach program at the end of September and will be returning to the states in March.
