Hi! My name is Renee. I have 10+ years of experience caring for, tutoring, and providing therapies to special needs children aged toddler to 13 years. I have education and work experience in both the social service and early childhood education fields. I've served as preschool and school age director (children ages 3 - 12), and master teacher of a preschool (children ages 6 weeks - 6 years). Also, I've previously taught with the public schools as a special education team teacher. For 2.5 years, I was a nanny, tutor, and was proactive in using methods of therapy to improve child's behavior and mobility. My duties were, but not limited to, safety monitoring, nurturing, providing consistency, structure and organization, art therapy, assisted in enhancing child's social development growth, and meeting individualized plan goals, initiated positive self imaging activities, entertained, assisted with school assignments and projects, planned play dates and fun excursions, prepared meals and snacks, child's laundry, bathed, administered daily medications, and put down to bed. I'm also familiar with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Sensory Integration Disorder (SID), Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD), School IEP's (Individualized Education Program), etc. I have extensive experience working with children having developmental delays, ADD/ADHD, Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, speech impediments, psychological and anxiety disorders, as well as physical and behavior challenges.
