My home church has many children with special needs, and I helped with watching the kiddos. My younger sister has cerebral palsy, and I have helped my mother with therapy for her and love to hang out with my sister. My sister in law has sanfilippo syndrome, she is very high maintenance and I have watched her while the in laws went on dates. Children with special needs are children that shouldn't be looked down upon because they are different, they are just as special as anyone else from my experience.
