I am extremely passionate about the field I work in and the children I have had the privilege to care for. Many of these kids are considered "different", but all deserve just as much attention, respect, and encouragement as any other child. With the right attitude and assistance these kids can lead a full, enriching life. Opportunities for growth are endless, not just for the client, but within myself as well. I am always learning something new from the interactions and relationships I develop in this field. Seeing progress in the kids I care about is the most rewarding experience of all. I have worked for the past 7 summers as a camp counselor at a camp set up and structured for children with behavioral and emotional disorders. These consist of PTSD, OCD, Reactive Attachment, ADD, ADHD, Bipolar, anxiety, conduct disorder/ODD, etc. For the past two years, I have worked at a children's hospital, first on the in-patient unit for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, and now for their school partnership program. In both facilities I have and continue to work with children on both ends of the Autism spectrum and other developmental disorders.
