I have always had a heart for those with special needs. I volunteered at a home for mentally disabled kids, aged 3-21 from the age of 13 to 20. I have worked for the park district in an after-school care setting working to include special needs children with all the activities. Most recently, I worked as an in home aid for two boy with Autism and speech delays for a little over two years from 2008-2010 when I got married and moved with my husband who was in the Army and stationed at Fort Riley, KS. He is getting out in June and we will be moving back to IL and I can not wait to get back to doing what I love. My brother also has high-functioning Asperger's as well as emotional and behavioral problems due to his life experiences before my family adopted him. I also have an A. A. from Rock Valley College where I took many Psychology classes.
