I have not directly cared for special needs people, but at the beginning of the 2012 school year, I was a homework and time management tutor for a special needs high school boy. On a different note. I took care of my mom while she was healing from metastatic breast cancer. I assisted her day and night as she recovered. I lifted her, prepared her food, ran the household, brought her to doctor appointments. It was very challenging, but I am so grateful that I could be there for her, no matter the difficulties. She is now in remission and thriving. I believe that everyone deserves help from someone who is patient and understanding of their strengths and limitations.
