I am a special needs educational technician. I have worked in this capacity for 13 years. I am looking to supplement my income (possibly during the school year) but definitely in the summer. I am also a med tech for my school, providing medical and emotional support for our students on a daily basis. I have a connection with our kids. I "get" what their lives are like and do my best to be emphatic and make each day count. It's not easy. I see the struggles our population goes through, the challenges, the obstacles, and do what I can to modify, encourage, and nurture while instilling confidence, respect, and the desire to succeed from within. I'm not a miracle-worker. I'm a mom. I try to see the whole picture because there's always a story behind every student, special needs or not. I love what I do. I want to help in any way that I can. I'm currently enrolled at the University of Maine Augusta (So. Paris site) attempting to finish my degree while working full-time and doing what I can to make my 87 year old widowed mom's life a little easier. These challenges I face daily help me to understand the challenges the kids go through. Thank you.
