My brother was born with heart complications, both of his kidneys on one side, and Down's syndrome. I started taking care of him at a young age to give him as much of a full and normal life as possible. I was a teacher's assistant for exceptional children my entire senior year of high school, and I couldn't have loved it more. In our class, we had children with special needs that were still able to function in society and were training for career paths. I always made the students feel equal to me and that I would be happy to help in any way possible. I always tried my hardest to create an environment where they felt comfortable being themselves and motivated to learn, grow, and always be improving. Working with the students and seeing their progression was the most gratifying experience I could have asked for.
