My experience: October 2009--present Private ABA Therapist DFW area Contract ABA Therapist * As a private therapist, I have joined treatment teams and work with children in their homes. My responsibilities include running ABA-based therapy, helping to strengthen social skills, and helping children widen their communication skills. I am passionate about my work, and there is nothing more satisfying than helping facilitate growth and change in a child. Helping to give much needed skills to children who would otherwise not have them drives my work. June 2008-- August 2009 DFW Center for Autism TSA Grapevine, Texas Teacher and Outreach Therapist * As a teacher I work in an integrated classroom with both neurologically typical children and children with autism. My responsibilities include running ABA-based, incidental teaching style one-on-one sessions with the children with autism, preparing weekly curriculum, and attending weekly training sessions. As an outreach therapist I work with children with autism one on one in their home. My responsibilities include keeping in communication with the program coordinator, keeping up with program changes, and working with the parents. Both positions have afforded me the opportunity to strengthen my skills in keeping children engaged and learning, as well as teaching me the importance of keeping a good rapport with the children.
