Hi, I'm Lauren and I'm an ABA Therapist Instructor. I love working with children, especially children with autism. I decided to go into ABA when I saw the tremendous positive effect that resulted from the therapy. My brother has low-functioning autism, but was unable to benefit from ABA because it hadn't developed until he was already older. My goal with ABA is to help those with autism grasp and master skills, and to also help my brother become more independent. I've worked with kids on multiple occasions; teaching the special needs class at my church, leading a 4-H group, teaching dance classes, teaching art classes at events, and babysitting. I am a certified Registered Behavioral Technician and I am also CPR certified. I have a clean Preferred Plus background check that was run by Care. com (if you'd like to run your own on me, I'm open to that). As your ABA Instructor, I like to focus on positive reinforcement as the motivator. Punishment is used only with parental permission and if positive reinforcement has not proven effective. My teaching method is to create a safe environment where children want to open up and learn. Having a variety of pets of my own in the past, I am willing to provide services in a household with pets. I understand how it is meeting new people so I am willing to meet in a public place first to get to know a little about each other. Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions.
