I worked for two years as a teaching assistant in a special needs, inclusion classroom. The morning session was for 3-year-olds, and the afternoon session was for four and 5-year-olds. The classroom was approved for a ratio of special needs and regular students. The special needs of students in this classroom emanated from Asperger's Syndrome and speech and language difficulties. My role was to support the lead teacher and support the goals of each child's individual, education plan.
