As a mom of four daughters, I know the importance of having a sitter who is present both physically, and emotionally while sitting for your children. There should be no outside distractions, such as texting, etc. I have many references who have said that they loved the comfort level of having a mom with many years of experience both with my own children, and others, that knows exactly how to have interactive fun with the kids, not just plug them in to electronics or the TV. I enjoy interactive play; games, walks, climbing trees (yes, I still can!), riding bikes, coloring, making tents, and many other activities I enjoyed while mine were (and still are) young. This has made a large difference in my ability to have a lovely list of families whom I work with.
