I've constantly worked with kids from the time I was 13. I have experience with children of all ages, autism, down syndrome, and twins. I've worked at a summer camp two years in a row, working with kids in groups of 16 from ages 8-15. I am currently in my first year at UNCW but before that was an active member in my church and an intern in the children's ministry. I love pets which stems from growing up with 8 dogs and 3 cats (my parents had a hard time saying no). I love crafts, picnics, taking walks, and cooking. I helped to start a ministry at my church providing one on one care for children with special needs in 8th grade, I've worked with it ever since and it has developed from there. I took a gap year between high school and college which opened the door to me being able to work with a special needs school in Costa Rica. The experience was invaluable and my heart is to work with people with special needs for a long time.
