I am currently and have been for the past 8 years employed by the school system as a special education assistant. I love working with the kids that I do and love how each one is so different and special. I love watching kids learn new things that they have struggled with.

Accepted 2 week job and then canceled 1.5 hours before she was to start. Spoke with Jessica by phone on a Wednesday, explained position and asked her directly how much she wanted to be paid. She said she did not know and asked me to provide a quote, I gave her a quote and she agreed to the amount. Since we have special needs kids I wanted her to meet them and conduct an in person interview. She came over on Saturday, was on time and even adjusted her visit time for us. She was pleasant and stayed for about an hour. We thought it was a good fit, again she did not say anything about the money. She was to start Monday morning at 9 a.m., I got a text at 7:50 a.m. saying that she and her husband figured out that it was not enough money and she could not take the job. I was already on my way to work and my husband was at home getting the kids ready and waiting. I tried calling and she did not answer so I texted asking if she could at least do today for more money to give us time to find another sitter, she texted back "sorry I can't." I find this extremely unprofessional and irresponsible with a lack of consideration for the difficulties this causes our family.
