I cared for a young girl who was 13 years old physically, but had been born very premature, her mentality was closer to a 3-year-old. She attended a normal high school, but was in a special needs class. Every Monday and Thursday, I would take her to an institute where she would work on memory skills. I would prepare her meals, bathe and dress her, drop off/pick up from school and take her to any after school activities. She really enjoyed dancing and was in a dance program for special needs children. Her brother was a normal 12-year-old boy and I would assist him with homework and take him to his baseball and basketball games/practices. I really enjoyed caring for this family, they made me feel like I was part of the family because I spent five days a week with them. I enjoyed watching the kids grow, especially watching the girl progress with her memory skills.
