I became interested in home care nursing after caring for my own mother in my home. I took a leave of absence to do so. During that time, I was unable to find anyone to do respite care (for a day or an evening out). After my Mom passed away, I decided I would like to do that kind of work myself. I admire people who keep their loved ones in their own home and desire to provide the type of assistance that I couldn't find. I prefer to work part-time, but I have done full-time for people to take vacations. I can do occasional over-nights, but I do not wish to live-in.
