I have spent the past two and a half years working with children in the behavioral health field. I also have experience working as a summer camp counselor. These positions have given me an opportunity to work with a variety of behaviors and in two different roles. I have worked as a professional providing direct service care in respite and therapeutic day settings. I have also worked as a case manager with the responsibility of coordinating care. I have worked with children who are clinically diagnosed with ADHD, Oppositional Defiant disorder, Autism, Anxiety disorder, etc. I also have experience working in more of a "big brother" role at the camp. In both these positions, I have worked to increase self-esteem as well as other important skills such as coping with frustration/anger, increasing ability to make and maintain friends, increase independent and leadership skills, increasing ability to follow directions, increase ability to engage in a non-preferred activity, and many more skills. I believe I would be a great fit for any family.
