I am currently a facilitator for a private rehabilitation company that specializes in the short term and/or long term care of clients who have acquired brain injuries, and require full time care. In my position, I am continually exposed to, and responsible for taking care of, a number of clients with various behavioral and physical needs. I am passionate about what I do because I get to connect with people. No matter what their limitations, awareness, or capabilities are, I am there to help help them, not simply just to do a job. As a former professional athlete, I have the physical capabilities of performing tasks put before me, and now as a continue my path towards a nursing degree, I am learning every day what it means not only to care, but also to provide care.
