I am a 23-year-old college graduate with 10+ years of childcare experience. I just moved to Los Angeles from Richmond, VA in August. I live in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. I worked as a full-time after school & summer nanny for the same family for 6 years in Richmond, VA before moving to LA. I have worked with children of all ages from infants-teenagers. I also have experience with disabilities (cerebral palsy) and special needs (autism spectrum). I also love to clean, so much so that in fact, the last family I worked for ended up letting their cleaning lady go because she was no longer needed. :) I love to plan activities like arts and crafts and games outside. I am very active and connect well with both girls and boys! My mom is a nutritionist, personal trainer and yoga instructor so I understand the importance of keeping a healthy and active lifestyle. I was a competitive swimmer, a swim coach, and a lifeguard for many years so I can provide your child with water safe training if that is something you are interested in. I have also worked as a teacher intern for a kindergarten class which has helped me understand what goes on inside the classroom, as well as how to encourage and support children with homework. Thanks to the internet and some patient friends and family, I have taken on healthy cooking in the last few years and it is so rewarding! I have my own car (2006 Ford Explorer) which is reliable, spacious, clean and ready for possible carpools! I have a clean driving record unless you count the parking ticket I got the first week of living here (darn you, Los Angeles!!!) I absolutely love animals of all kinds. I have two 15-year-old cats of my own that I dragged with me to LA, and an 8-year-old Siberian Husky dog which stayed behind with my parents. I moved to Los Angeles because I thrive around creative, forward thinking people and families. I come from a large, loving and supportive family which is why I love working with children so much. I love the close bond I have made with the previous families I have worked for so much that I consider them part of my own. I am excited to start growing and learning from a new family full or part time. If you are looking for an occasional date night or overnight babysitter, I try to keep my schedule fairly open. My interests include: fashion, music, art, interior design, yoga, camping, hiking, gardening, shopping, reading. My hobbies include: anything creative, jewelry making, web design, photography, reading, sewing, painting, and collecting records. What I like to do on weekends: I love being social/meeting new people, attending live music shows, watching independent movies, exploring museums, trying out different restaurants, and browsing book/record shops. I always love supporting any locally owned businesses or other special events that support a good cause. Please feel free to run a background check! I would also be happy to provide you with references from parents, their kids, co-workers, neighbors, etc.!
