I have been blessed to work with a variety of amazing young people. My son was born with Epilepsy and later we found out he had ADHD. After years of working with him to help him learn how to become the best he can be. I fell in love with helping those who need a little extra TLC. I was hired on at Aurora Public Schools and work there in a life skills program for 12 years. I assisted is a variety of different tasks to help students learn and grow as healthy and as calm as they can. I have experience with children who need behavior modification because of there disabilities. Over time, I have learned that behaviors are not always bad. Sometimes it is a form of communication. It is our job to understand what they are trying to tell us. I am a firm believer in schedules and consistency. In my 12 years at the school district I was mainly in an autism life skills class but for the few years more students were being integrated into our room. We had sever behaviors, tube feedings, visual impairment and much more. I also worked with a woman with a T.B.I. I cared for her for 9 months. I have lots of experience and would love to meet you and see if we are a good fit.
