I have experience working as an attendant and personal caregiver for adults and children with Down Syndrome. I also volunteer with a group that provides respite to children with many different disabilities, including Autism, intellectual disabilities, medically fragile, etc. The kids are always a joy to work with and I love it! My husband and I adopted our son, who happens to have Down Syndrome, and he makes me happy everyday! He has also helped me realize what I truly love doing -- caring for individuals with special needs and encouraging them to reach their full potential. Additionally, I have experience with sensory processing disorder, I know a limited amount of sign language for basic communication, also am familiar with picture schedules. I am able to give injections, am familiar with feeding tubes, I am able to transport to doctor visits, therapies, etc. and I am willing to be trained in other needed areas. My availability is mostly during the day and some evenings. I would be glad to discuss your needs!
