About Andrea

As a CNA, I trained in a hospital-based nursing home. I've also worked for more than six years (paid and volunteer) in homes, caring for people with early Alzheimer's, encroaching blindness, and cardiovascular problems, and I've recently taught an online class to elders through a special grant. A former marketing executive and adjunct professor, I took care of my parents, which is how I came to this work. I bring energy, communication, compassion and creative engagement to the job. I'm great at figuring out ways to keep elders involved in life. I drive and have a good car--easy to get in and out of. Currently, I do a lot of medical appointments and record keeping, as well as hands-on care, shopping, and cooking. I also bring the perspective of a daughter who hired wonderful CNAs for her ailing mother. On the side, I'm training my 24-month-old dog as a therapy dog for children and the elderly.
