Hi there! Thanks for checking out my Care profile! I'm a 26 years old, non-binary, UCLA alumnus. In undergrad, I studied neuroscience and then went on to became a CA credentialed secondary biology teacher with LMU. As a former teacher, I always loved helping kids develop critical thinking skills, life skills, emotional intelligence, coping tools, strong communication, and a growth mindset. I was a middle school biology and computer science teacher for 2 years and have experience nannying a 6-year-old child over the summer. I spent my summers working at summer camps and taught ages 5-8 at a Saturday school throughout high school and college. I have years of tutoring experience throughout my life and love creating a safe space for children to learn and explore their interests. I love going on hikes, gardening, being in nature and meditating, cooking vegan food, doing arts and crafts, swimming, and training and walking my 4 lb chihuahua rescue.

Zayn is an incredible caregiver - perhaps the most thoughtful and responsible we've ever had! They have been such an incredible presence in my kids' lives. They are reliable, always on time, responsive, and incredibly trustworthy (proactively making sure to let us know about extra steps they will take to keep our kiddo safe in new situations, for instance). More importantly, though, they have gone above and beyond to get to know and understand my kids and tailor their childcare approach to their needs. My 5-year-old, for instance, has ADHD and was struggling in an after care program. Zayn came in and really got to know my kid, developing respectful and effective strategies for behavior issues and building trust with my child. Zayn is also fun and creative, coming up with interesting activities that allow my child to learn, engage with the world, and have fun in their care. Would hire again in a heartbeat!
