I am passionate about helping with care for individuals with special needs as I have had need for it in my personal life. A loved one suffered a stroke at a young age, and I have seen the difference a passionate, energetic caregiver can make. It can be difficult to bring a new person into your daily routine, but when that individual tries their best to be as positive, understanding and encouraging as possible, it helps. My first experience caring for an individual with a special need was babysitting for the most loveable young boy who happened to have Down's syndrome. I later attended college, majoring in Human Services. It was there that my interest in caring for and empowering people with special needs peaked. I have also completed an internship assisting with residential and day habilitation.
