About Willa

Willa is a natural with kids! I worked closely with Willa for two weeks at a summer writing camp; she was my "adventure guide" (a role that is essentially a combination of a camp counselor and a teacher's aide). Her duties included, but were not limited to, independently managing and leading a group of seven rising 1st graders in various camp games during "Troop Time," and supporting myself and the campers with various tasks throughout the day (tasks such as classroom management during instruction time, assistance with fine motor skill activities, and maintaining a safe and positive environment). Willa took her role seriously and consistently showed professionalism, enthusiasm, patience and proactivity. She was kind and patient with the campers, and was comfortable setting and keeping expectations. I've worked with over 10 adventure guides over the years with the camp and she is one who has definitely stood out!
