Although I am a RN in good standing with the knowledge, skills, and experience that a nurse has, I am governed by R. I. G. L Title 5-34 and the Rhode Island Nurse Practice Act. I cannot and do not hold myself out as and will not accept employment as a person licensed to practice nursing for hire. Please do not allow the disclaimer to put you off but as a professional nurse I have to follow the rules and regulations that govern my profession. My work background includes working as a waitress and laundry attendant. I also owned and operating a cleaning service and lawn care business. I supervised staff and managed 60 commercial and residential accounts. I am warm, caring, intuitive, hardworking, knowledgeable, observant, loyal and compassionate. I love older adults and enjoy spending time with them and find that their generation have an insightful take on the world we live in now verses the way things once were. My education includes: *The Sawyer School *Graduated with Honors with a Certificate as a Medical Assistant *Medical Secretary *Community College of RI *Graduated with Honors with a Associate in Science in Nursing *Approximately 7000 hours of experience in a hospital setting. The patient populations I have cared for ranged from one month to 101-years-old. They were primarily medical-surgical patients with Cardio-Respiratory issues and Cardio-Renal disease as a result of complications from hypertension, diabetes and other chronic health conditions. I also have had the privilege to care for people who were at the end of their journey in this life. By supporting and advocating for them their wishes and desires medically and meeting any spiritual needs as specifically requested by the patient or family based on their own beliefs. Allowing them to die with dignity, on their terms. I have experience supporting their loved ones by educating them the about the process of dying and the numerous ways we grieve and cope with loss. I have extensive knowledge of the long-term care programs in RI and the Medicare program and the numerous steps by the state to reinvent the Medicaid program to be more home and community based. This approach is best for you and your family member's health and outcomes. I can do what you normally do and you can take a much deserved break. I can provided companionship, someone to talk to and be with your loved one while you attend to other obligations or work. I can transport you or your family member to appointments, take notes for you and your loved one so the Physician's plans and directions are clear and can be followed by you or your loved ones. It has been proven and published that having someone else go to doctors with you results in a more productive appointment. I am also available overnight from sundown to sun up for those clients whom are at risk of falling due mobility, incontinence, or other health issues. I can provide peace of mind of someone committed to care for you, your family, or your aging parents overnight. Please feel free to inquire if your needs are not listed above. All care assignments will be considered based on each individuals specific needs.
