For the past 10 years, I have been working with individuals with special needs or disabilities. I've worked with younger children as young as 8 years old, middle school and high school-aged youth, and older adults as well. Previously, I've worked in summer camp, school, and recreational environments. I have had experience caring for children with autism, down syndrome, mood disorders, behavioral issues, and other developmental disorders. In my job, I've performed personal care services for people of differing abilities, respite care services, inclusion services, have had experience with children with seizure disorders, children who are non-verbal, and overall, children of varying functional abilities. Through my work, I've learned that everyone, regardless, of age, disability, etc. has something to offer, and I've been humbled to take a heap of lessons and skills form those whom I've worked with. Helping is my passion, and I'm a grateful to do it.
