I have been working with one family for 3 years now with a 13 y/o girl & a year with her two younger brothers - aged 16 months & 3 years. In addition, I have had loads of previous experience with other families & close friends with babysitting, both with kiddos & adults with autism (high & low needs) & those that are neurotypical - from newborn to teens. I prefer to be engaging & have kiddos be mentally stimulated or get some physical/tactile play in rather than sitting them down in front of a screen! I also am very big on allowing kiddos space to talk about their feelings big & small to help navigate them through regulation so they can have tools when self soothing. I wish I could give her ten stars! She is very kind, patient, and responsible, and clean! She played with my kids all the time, rather than sitting them in front of a screen and took them to the park often with my permission. She cared for my 7 year old son who has ADHD and occasionally my 2 year old daughter when we needed. She was very respectful of my house rules and my parenting style and upheld them when I was not home. My son and daughter adore her and we miss having her around. She doesn’t care for our kids anymore because we changed our schedules around in a way so we wouldn’t need childcare anymore to save money, but we would hire her back in an instant!
