Hello! My name is Ted, and I am an Augustana University graduate who will be starting medical school at USD in July 2023 on a deferred acceptance. I am looking for a longitudinal position as a nanny/babysitter for my gap year and into medical school. I have three years of experience caring for children, including babysitting, being a YMCA Kid stop supervisor, teaching swim lessons, camp counseling, and directing multiple theatre school shows. I also have 400+ hours of experience as an ICU nurse's aide, 800+ hours of experience as a lifeguard, and I am trained in CPR and first aid. As a babysitter/nanny, I specialize in being a fun and interactive friend for your kid(s). In my past position as a babysitter for an 8-year-old boy, I would of course cook meals and put him to bed, but he and I would also make LEGO stop motion movies, write songs with my guitar, and partake in (very intense) dance battles. We have an only child, so my wife and I have always been helicopter parents. When our son was young, we rarely went anywhere without him unless we knew someone very responsible was watching him. I knew Ted's parents for a few years before we met him, so I knew he was a very dependable, good kid. When we trusted Ted to stay with our son when we went out, Ted and our son developed a good friendship and our son looked forward to the times Ted would come over. Not only was he dependable and responsible, but he always found fun, safe activities for them to do. Now that Ted doesn't live in our town anymore, we miss him, but love seeing him when he comes back to visit. If anyone has the opportunity for Ted to watch your kid(s) while you go out or go to work, or whatever the reason may be, your kid(s) will have a safe, fun time under his watch.
