About Tara

I'd describe my personality as patient, reliable, cheerful. I've been a special education teacher for 30 years. I specialize in teaching reading, with a structured literacy background. This is composed of phonics, phonology and encoding (spelling). I also teach math, and written language. I like tutoring because I love to see children learn to read and spell. The light in their eyes when reading rules click makes me happy. I'm looking for a job that excites me and helps the student. I love to teach. In even teach an exercise class early in the morning . I started tutoring when I first started teaching. I've tutored on and off throughout my career as I've raised my own One thing you should know about me is I work hard to help your child be successful. There is a lot I do prior to my tutoring sessions to make sure the session goes well and is a beneficial use of time for all. My skills include patience, flexibility, structure when teaching reading, spelling and math.
