I have five years of experience working with children ages six weeks to 11 years old in childcare settings. I took two years off to advance in becoming a Certified Dental Assistant but Ive realized my passion is and forever will be with kids. Sydney has been part-time with our family for the last several months, and I could not imagine a more phenomenal person to take care of our children while we’re away. Sydney is attentive to every child’s direct needs and is masterful in how she communicates with each child. Whether it’s about their hobbies, likes/dislikes, correcting poor behavior, or de-escalating an argument between siblings. She is sensitive to how you (the guardian) prefer to correct the child's behavior, consequences, etc. If there is a scenario where she isn’t sure how to proceed, she’ll contact you, and ask for your thoughts and opinion before addressing your child. She’ll also inform you of any concerns she has, or incidents that occurred while you were away. If an opportunity presents itself that wasn’t discussed (for example: getting ice cream from the ice cream truck), she’ll ask if it’s okay before treating the kids. For our family, Sydney handles school pick-up, homework, light cleaning, preparing meals & snacks, playing with the kids, giving attention to our dogs, taking the kids to the park, and so much more. Sydney is attentive and present with our kids, and they truly adore her.
