About Susan

I have a B. A. in Biology and a Ph. D. in Neuroscience, and am extremely passionate about biology and mathematics. I've taught early elementary school to university students in informal and formal settings. My experience with younger students includes teaching at an outdoor education center where I taught students about the outdoors, basic ecology, and biology topics, and marine biology and anatomy as an after-school class for 4th to 6th graders. Finally, I've also taught Intro to Biology to Advanced Anatomy and Physiology courses at the university level. I prefer to work with elementary students who need additional help being brought up to their grade levels in science and/or math. I aim to make the material presented in tutoring sessions accessible, integrate students' nonacademic interests, and share my passion for math and science.
