About Stephanie

I am a former licensed Kindergarten and 1st grade teacher of 7 years. On top of that, I have 10+ years experience as a Para Educator including SPED units, a Kindergarten Assistant and a Resource Para for grades K-6. I also have 5+ years experience with one-on-one tutoring, mostly with grades K-3. Learning to read, write and do basic math should be fun for students. I believe in using multi-sensory methods as much as possible, as all children learn differently. In addition to reading books, and doing math problems and writing on paper, I like to use games, manipulatives, songs or chants, and body movements to increase their abilities. I believe in being a cheer leader for students. Progress may move slowly at times, but I feel it is very important to recognize and celebrate all success, no matter how small. In order for children to make progress, they must be able to have confidence that they can be successful.
