About Sophie

Hi! I'm a recent Cal Poly graduate who studied Psychology, Child Development, and Studio Art. In my spare time, I enjoy running, painting, playing music, and pretty much anything outdoors! I have always loved working with kids, ever since I was in high school. Since then, I've worked in classrooms, afterschool programs, and I've tutored kids as young as 6 years old. My educational background in psychology and child development combined with my direct experience working with children gives me a well rounded idea of how to balance being fun and caring with being able to set necessary boundaries. Part time, I work as a lifeguard at the Cal Poly Recreation Center. Through this job I've been extensively trained in CPR and first aid, leaving me confident in my ability to handle unlikely emergencies. I'm very outgoing, empathetic, and creative. I hope I can provide a fun, safe, and quality child care experience.
