My name is Sophia and I am currently working on my Masters thesis in Clinical Psychology. Last year I graduated with a BA in Psychology from Trinity University. Throughout my studies I have learned about childhood development in depth and have worked with children in a lab setting, studying language development. A bit more about me and my qualifications... I started babysitting when I was 13 and have worked in childcare ever since. I have worked as an assistant teacher at a Montessori School, at a standard daycare, and as a private nanny. I have worked with practically all age groups from babies to adolescents. I really love children and enjoy my work; I've been told that I'm a kid at heart. I have both a dog and a cat who I love very dearly, so I am also very comfortable with pet-sitting and I am also CPR and First Aid certified.

Sophia applied to my nanny job posting on 3/28. We spoke the same day and agreed to have her come the following day to meet my children. We decided on 2-4pm, but she was a no show. She texted close to 6:30pm to tell me she had an emergency and couldn't make it. I understand emergencies come up, but I was disappointed that she didn't text to let me know she couldn't make it. Still, I decided to give it another chance. She let me know that she could start today, 3/31, and work a full day, and even confirmed she was coming last night. 30 min before she was expected to arrive I received a text that she wasn't going to be able to nanny for us because it was too far for her with traffic. It's important to note that she had my address from the first day, 3/28. Again, I'm an understanding person- I get gas prices are on the rise! But she applied to my posting which I assume is filtered for a distance she's comfortable with, and she had my address to make that determination days ago. I'm disappointed because Sophia does sound like a lovely person, but unfortunately it was yet another person who was unreliable and left my husband and I in a bind.
