I went to nursing school. Then worked for a hospital in the Home Health/Hospice department for 24 years. During those years I found many of my patients did not qualify to live in their own homes alone because of a health risk & they did not have a family member that could live with them. So, were forced to move into nursing homes. This Broke my heart. Later, after my children had grown I went out on my own to do Private Caregiving so my patients could live out their lives in their home. My skills include vitals, assistance with physical therapy, ambulation, medicine, wound care, personal care, bathing, grooming, cooking, cleaning, laundry, companionship, driving, book keeping, scheduling, etc. Live-in care turns out to eight dollars an hr. During the slower time of the day I will go out and garden in my clients yard. In my off time, I like to take my Goldendoodle to the dog beach, go on walks, get together with a friend for lunch/dinner or video chat with my grandchildren.
