When I was younger, my grandfather had gotten very sick. I wanted to do something, but at a young age there was nothing I could do. When my grandfather passed away, I made up my mind that I wanted to go to class for my Personal Care Aide (PCA) Certification. I obtained my certification in March of 2011, and then worked for one group home for individuals with intellectual disabilities. I have also worked private duty with an individual with autism. I can preform tasks such as bed baths, ambulation, feeding, operating Hoyer lifts, cooking meals based on strict diets by the physician's or family's orders, cleaning areas used by the individual and myself, assisting individuals with bowel movement, changing soiled depends, and dressing individuals.
