About Sharon

I am a friendly, compassionate, and dedicated person who works well with students. I like tutoring because I thrive on helping students achieve their goals. I have a BA English with a minor in mathematics. I am confident in Algebra 1 and 2. I am looking for a job that is focused on helping students in multiple subjects and study strategies. I would love to help students with their summer reading and SAT/ACT preparation. I started tutoring when I was in college; I have taught for 20+ years at the community college level. I have tutored student in 6th-12th grades since 2018. In my spare time, I like to spend time in nature, go to movies, and attend local performances. One thing you should know about me is I like to develop a connection with students to increase their interest in learning. My skills include teaching students how to choose essay topics and guiding them the writing process. Reading texts prior to tutoring sessions so that students can develop their ideas in sessions.
