I have been trained and have experience working with kids with learning or developmental disabilities. I currently work as a peer mentor for the first student with down syndrome at my school. I create her lesson plans, homework, tests. In addition to academics, I teach her social skills and how to navigate through high school. When I worked for the City of Napa as a Recreation Leader I was formally trained to work with those with both learning and developmental disabilities. I am passionate about working with those with special needs because I admire their perseverance and strength. The most hardworking, capable and loving people I know are those with disabilities. It is truly a joy to work with them.
