About Sara

Hello! Teaching is my passion & I love being an educator! I am currently a 5th grade special education teacher with 13 years experience. I have worked with grades K-5 throughout my career. I have experience teaching reading, writing, phonics and math with both special education students and general education students. I am licensed k-12 Special Education, K-5 General Education, and a post graduate Reading Specialist licensure. I am trained in Orton-Gillingham and have been using this program with students for many years. I'd describe my personality as patient, energetic, and kind! I love tutoring because it gives me the opportunity to work with children one on one and see the progress they make throughout the year and/or in the summer. With tutoring, I get to cater to my students needs and learning techniques. It gives us an opportunity to build more a rapport and focus on the instruction. I bring a fun & creative approach to each of my sessions whether in person or virtual!
