About Samantha

I enjoy working with children because they are so pure in their enthusiasm and curiosity. Children are naturally empathetic and want to do well if they're taught how! My time as an educator has been rich in wonderful opportunities to learn alongside my students and witness their creativity. I began working with kids when I was about 14 years old. I began babysitting, then spent my college summers in California nannying my twin cousins. During my undergraduate years, I also worked as a summer camp counselor and early childhood caregiver in a child development center. After college, I spent time teaching abroad in Ireland and Taiwan. I have spent the last 10 years teaching special education and kindergarten as a certified educator. My skills include building trusting relationships with children, teaching/reinforcing social-emotional and communication skills, and providing a loving, structured environment.
