About Robert

Hi, my name is Robert, and I am currently 4 years into a PhD program in Physics at UCSD with the goal of becoming a professor and teaching for the rest of my life. I have taught at the university level for 5 years, including hundreds of hours of tutoring experience in subjects ranging from basic algebra to advanced calculus and physics of all levels. Truly very little brings me more fulfillment than helping someone who is struggling to feel like they are capable of learning and succeeding. My main focus as an educator is to help empower a student to feel competent and knowledgeable; I don't believe you can 'make' anyone learn, so a large part of my enthusiasm is directed towards helping students see the joy and empowerment that learning and achieving can bring. I pride myself on my 100% recommendation rate from students who have reviewed me as a TA and tutor, and hope to channel this enthusiasm and passion for teaching to help as many people as I can.
