Hi, I'm Rebekah! I am currently a junior at Appalachian State and I am looking for a part-time caregiver job. I have a lot of experience with children with special needs. I grew up with a sister with Cerebral Palsy resulting from a traumatic brain injury. I work during summers with a teenage girl who is autistic, hearing impaired, and dyslexic. I have also tutored a young girl with Auditory Processing Disorder. I started a respite service for kids with special needs and their families in my home town (which I go home once a month to run). Our regular participants include children with CP, Autism, Down Syndrome, Blindness, and Intellectual Disabilities and range in age from 5-25+. While I do not specialize in medically fragile children, I am comfortable with non-ambulatory, non-verbal, seizure prone, and children who need assistance with all basic care functions. I am very patient and loving but also disciplined and structured as required. I love working with these beautiful people and I would love to have the opportunity to meet and work with your child.
