I am passionate about caring for the people with special needs because I know that they bring true joy to the lives of people that they encounter. I believe that people with special needs are written off because of their disabilities when they are really full of potential and growth. I have volunteered regularly with the the Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas in fitness bootcamps and socials. I have also volunteered with students with other intellectual and physical disabilities. I have tutored elementary kids and have coached gymnastics to kids of varying ages and capacities. After I graduate in May, I will be working as a Behavioral Technician at a center for autism. I truly enjoy working with people with special needs and helping those develop skills that others think they could never attain.
