Although it may be difficult at times to care for someone with special needs I find it to be a rewarding experience. My long term career goal is to be an Occupational Therapist. I am an intuitive and compassionate person and I know how important it is to feel comfortable in particular environments. I have been a Special Olympics coach in high school, volunteered at Ability First Sports Camp in Chico, volunteered at Special Pals through CAVE, and was a caregiver for a man with cerebral palsy for about 2 years. I specifically like to work with people with disabilities or special needs. It is inspiring to see these individuals of all ages work through their struggles and improve.
